Dear colleagues,
thank you very much for welcoming us to your school. We felt comfortable from the very first day and really appreciated how open and friendly everyone was.
One of the things that impressed us most was the students’ level of English. It was striking that their language skills were not only visible in English lessons, but also in subjects like history or geography, where teaching takes place bilingually. It was great to see how naturally students use English in different contexts and how confidently they communicate beyond the English classroom.
We were also very impressed by the students’ motivation and engagement. In the lessons we observed they were attentive, interested and open to new ideas. Many of them approached us with curiosity and kindness, which made it easy for us to connect and feel welcome.
We also felt very well received in the staff room. The conversations with your colleagues were honest, interesting and very helpful for us as trainee teachers. It was especially valuable to exchange ideas about teaching methods, everyday school life and the Polish education system.
We are very thankful that individual timetables were prepared for us based on our subjects and interests. At the same time, we had the chance to visit other lessons as well, which allowed us to gain insights into many different subjects. This flexibility gave us a broad and realistic impression of your school.
Observing German lessons was a particularly special experience for us. Seeing how German is taught as a foreign language was new and very interesting from our perspective. We really appreciated being included in the lessons and having the opportunity to speak with the students as native speakers. We hope that our involvement was helpful and motivating for them as well.
Finally, we would like to thank you for the many recommendations on how to use our time in Poland. Your suggestions helped us learn more about Gliwice and the surrounding region and made our stay even more meaningful.
Overall, the week at your school was a very valuable experience for us, both professionally and personally. We are grateful for the openness, trust and time you invested in us and hope that this cooperation can continue in the future.
Best wishes,
Jennifer, Theresa, Janek, Maria, Fenna and Dennis
